VNIIFTRI is the State Scientific Metrological Institute, carries out contracts for ensuring the unity of measurements, develops the basic and applied researches. VNIIFTRI reproduces of National scale of time, as well as meets the needs of the State in the standard time and frequency signals and information about the parameters of the Earth’s rotation. The Institute carries out the development, improvement, maintenance, comparison and application of the State primary measurement standards; establish and maintain a Federal Information Fund for ensuring the traceability of measurements. VNIIFTRI serves as the head organization of Rosstandart on establishing means of ensuring the uniformity of measurements in GLONASS in field of radio measurements; in the improvement and development of the reference base for nuclear energy and nuclear weapons complex; on the problem of ensuring of unity of measurements in the field of defense and security.
The quality management system VNIIFTRI is certificated according to GOST ISO 9001-2011 “Quality Management Systems. Requirements ‘and GOST RV 0015-002-2012’ System of Product Development and setting to the production of military technique and recognized Euro-Asian Cooperation of National Metrological Institutions (COOMET) meets the international standard ISO / IEC 17025.Quality Management System.
