Mexico can place ground-based stations of the Russian GLONASS system on tis territory, Director General of the the Mexican Space Agency (AEM) Javier Mendieta Jiménez says.

"For Mexico it would be very interesting to place the GLONASS ground-based station for two reasons: to use this modern navigation system for civic applications, having more app solutions, and to include different geographical, geomatic, meteorological data, agricultural and transport information, depending on applications," he said to Russian media. 

According to him, there are no certain agreements on this matter yet, but it is one of the points of the future intergovernmental agreement between Mexico and Russia about the cooperation in the space industry.
