Belarus plans to get involved into improving the Russian global navigation satellite system GLONASS, the leading information agencies report with the reference to the Member of the Education Commission of the country Vasily Mikhno.

"Today the House of Representatives will consider a bill on ratifying the agreement between Belarus and Russia about the cooperation in the field of the use and development of the Russian navigation satellite system GLONASS," V. Mikhno said.

According to him the agreement is intended to create "an organizational and legal base for the cooperation in the field of the use and development of GLONASS and relevant satellite navigation technologies."
