GLONASS is harmless for using in USA

The Head of the National Emergency Number Association (NENA) Trey Forgety has named bogus the concerns of the Congress and US citizens that the use of the Russian navigation system GLONASS to help locate 911 callers will threaten the national security of the US.
"There were many articles, whose authors don't quite understand this technology, people raise groundless concerns that Russia will have data on 911 caller whereabouts or who resounded to the caller," Forgety said.
He explained that GLONASS just transmits the signal, and cannot receive it back from a phone, thus there is no need to worry that Russia uses the system in a wrong way and to harm the USA.
